Do You Believe In Two Gods?
Rusty MillerIt is an argument we hear quite often: The God of the Old Testament is so different from the God of the New Testament. Usually, the God of the Old Testament is described as a harsh, thundering tyrant, while the New Testament God is one of love and mercy. Is this an accurate picture of God? What are the consequences of believing in this type of separation between the covenants? more...

Men In The Light
Jerry DrewAnyone who has ventured into Deck the Walls or a similar art store recently would undoubtedly recognize the name Thomas Kinkade. Known as the "painter of light", Kinkade is famous for a luminous "glow" he is able to create in his paintings. Long before Kinkade illuminated our lives with his paintings, however, there existed another painter of light, the apostle John. . He said "God is light" (1 John 1:5). This metaphor is used to symbolize the purity of God. John painted for us a picture of the light of God contrasted against the darkness of the world. John points out that this purity was also manifested in the life of His Son Jesus Christ (1:1-3). This set the stage for his main point: one who has fellowship with God must himself be walking in the light. "If we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1:7). As Christian men, what can we do to walk in this light as God intended? more...

Almost everywhere, there was outrage at such disregard for God's word. In fact, the Baptist General Convention of Texas asked that their name be removed from all of the church's signs, letterhead, etc. They agreed to return the church's money and informed the church they were no longer a part of their fellowship. more...
Promise Keepers Goes Bust

Now word comes that PK has hit on hard times and the evil at the heart of PK comes to the fore. Read carefully this story from the news wire that ran in February 19, 1998's Dallas Morning News: more...
